Baklava Lady has hands down some of the best food around. You can never go wrong with a baklava latte and pistachio baklava! Their specials are always amazing and the kofte wrap is a great staple too. The owner and staff are so kind and the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming. I moved to upstate NY but always make sure to stop by when I’m in town - I’ll never skip it!
The restaurant was a delight to eat at with my dear friend. We arrived at 10 am on Friday, they are only open for weekend hours, and quickly the place filled up. The service was excellent, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The owner was the best by interacting with her customers. The menu is vegan, and if you have food sensitivities, they will work with you.
It is one of the best vegan restaurants in NY/NJ! A Family-owned, ethical establishment with dignity, serving a variety of Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, all made with love. Though it is almost a two-hour drive away, I look for the next opportunity to go back. So my only complaint is the distance, and I urge the baklava lady to open another shop in NYC! Highly recommended!
We really loved the food and atmosphere! The rosewater lemonade reminded me of my late grandmother Very delicious and refreshing! The baklava lady was also so welcoming and down to Earth!
While I've had baklava from The Baklava Lady at VegFests in the past, nothing could have prepared me for how much I was going to enjoy my food while dining at the cafe. I ordered the Turkish Breakfast plate and a spinach and cheese borek. The bread on the breakfast plate came out warm and soft with a perfect crunch on the outside. The vegetables were fresh and seasoned perfectly. I forgot to ask what kind of cheese was included but it was one of the best cheeses I've ever had. The borek was also delicious, perfectly flaky too. I went a bit wild with beverages and had a strawberry matcha, Turkish coffee, AND got a Baklava latte to go. My mom and husband were also with me, they had the special (vegan steak over pide) and raved about it between bites. We wrapped up our meal with some baklava and a baklava cupcake. I cannot wait to visit again! The owner stopped by our table to check on everything. The staff was super helpful and very pleasant. I cannot wait to go back!
Amazing food and love that it's all vegan. Came here for brunch back in 2023 and I still think about the amazing menemen and pistachio latte I had. Will definitely stop by when I'm in the area again!
I never leave reviews bc I’m too lazy but this place is so good I had to share...the simit bread was baked fresh and to perfection!! The Turkish board was delicious as are pretty much all the pastries. You feel like you’re sitting in Turkey enjoying fresh baked goods. Everything is delicious, I highly recommend!!
Incredible food and vibe!! I’ve been coming here since they opened. The quality and consistency are unmatched. Easily my favorite vegan food in NJ. Great coffee too!
